Dr. Borna Nyaoke

Dr. Borna Nyaoke-Anoke is a clinical researcher and public health specialist. She holds an MBChB degree from the University of Nairobi, Kenya, and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of
Liverpool, U.K. Additionally, she has specialized training in the design and conduct of clinical trials
through the Global Clinical Scholars Research Training (GCSRT) Program at Harvard Medical School,
U.S.A.
Currently, Dr. Borna serves as the Head of the Global Mycetoma Disease Program at Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi), a collaborative, patient-driven, non-profit organization dedicated to
developing new treatments for neglected diseases. She managed the world’s first randomized double-
blind clinical trial on mycetoma in Sudan and is currently working on epidemiological and clinical studies
on mycetoma in various countries.
Dr. Borna's extensive experience in clinical research includes epidemiological and simulated studies,
COVID-19 and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) drug development clinical trials, and phase I and II clinical
trials for HIV and Ebola vaccines.
